Bat 10 RuleJuly 29, 2008 3:24 pm

Personally, I have always liked the DH since it gives some of my favorite players with huge forearms and balky knees a reason to keep playing but being an NL fan, it lead to my fave players going to the AL. Also I believe that a pitcher should have to bat. Said pitcher throws a high hard one in on a power hitter and almost cleans his clock, he should know his feet will be standing in the batters box within the next 3 innings and retaliation may follow. So my new rule is bat 10! Yes i know it sounds like a slow pitch softball lineup but who cares. It is the perfect way to go. No longer would teams such as the Mets (when Piazza lost his usefulness at catcher), Phillies (when they had Thome who couldn't scoop a ball at first) or the Giants (when Barry's knees became jelly) have to trade, cut or plain live with their power hitters moving on. They could just bat them. Also on the AL side headhunters such as Clemens would know they would pay the price at some point. Plus as they say, chicks dig the long ball and wouldn't it be nice to see a few pitchers learn to hit as well as Livan, CC and of course the oft injured but talented batter Mike Hampton. My top picks that never made itJuly 24, 2008 5:16 pm
The second week of the series had two rules that I always liked but never made it into the rulebook and I really wished they did: "Any home run hit 450 feet or more is worth an extra run." -- All Star blackman_jones 2. The Bo Jackson Rule "After a whiff, any player wishing to be called a 'Power Hitter' must break the wooden bat. Over the head or thigh is optional, but we need to see splinters." -- All Star The Flaming Yak
